I am a biologist interested in the study of hybridization and the evolutionary dynamics across communities, ecosystems and contact zone areas. As part of my research in the integrative biology field, one of my main interests is in exploring ideological aspects and biases across narratives in the scientific literature, specially in relation to class, gender and racial issues. For this purpose, I have an appointment as Wittig Fellow in Feminist Biology in collaboration with the Center for Research on Gender and Women at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I will teach a course entitled Biology and Gender during the first semester of 2018. Additionally, I am very interested in new ways of thinking and communicating science, as well as to connect with researchers from the arts and humanities field for inspiration and further cooperation.
