Tarsha Herelle has received the Mary Washburn Willets Award for Excellence in the Social Sciences. Tarsha is a fourth year PhD candidate in Educational Policy Studies. Her research explores policies of inclusion, educational spaces, and the politics of belonging among groups marginalized by race, gender and sexuality. Her dissertation examines how policies of inclusion at two predominately white higher education institutions in Brazil and the United States are experienced by women of African descent. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family, practicing yoga, and anything and everything outdoors.
